In the development of the new Sturekvarteret, Space Development Group (SDG) is taking the next step by establishing a 1000 square meter restaurant square in the historic Marmorhallarna in Bångska palatset. The project will be a central part of opening up the lower street level and creating a new destination in the heart of the city.

The restaurant square, named ASIA, will bring together nine units with a clear Asian focus. Here, high-quality gastronomy from nine countries in Southeast Asia – Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and others – will meet, with each kitchen presented by knowledgeable entrepreneurs with long experience. The result is a culinary ensemble that reflects Asia’s rich food culture while offering a modern, dynamic atmosphere.

It will be designed as a food destination in its own right, combining authentic flavors with an inspiring environment. With 300 seats, open seven days a week, Asia Food Hall will be a vibrant meeting place for both lunch and dinner, with a wide range of takeaways. The atmosphere varies throughout the day, from energetic lunchtime service to a more vibrant evening atmosphere – always moving, always with a sense of discovery.

“We think that Stureplan and the city need the opportunity for a little more fast casual dining. We believe in complementing fine dining with a more diverse offering, and we think SDG is the best on the market in this respect,” says Magnus Lundgren, Commercial Director at Tam Group.
A unique aspect is the organization by country and province, with each unit having its own identity and design that captures the essence of its origin – from classic traditions to modern subculture. This sets Asia apart from other food halls and makes it a place where diners can find their favorites and be encouraged to try new things.
SDG is responsible for the entire project: planning, design of spaces, interior design, concept, choice of operators and operation and management. The ambition is to create a new type of restaurant square that complements Stureplan with a more diverse range, where casual dining is raised to an international level.
Preliminary opening is planned for the first half of 2027.
